Kara Scott is a Canadian-born poker personality, host, commentator and player who has travelled the world through poker, and in 2019 launched The Heart of Poker podcast in partnership with 888poker. Among the guests she has hosted on the show are Xuan Liu, Fedor Holz, Vanessa Kade, Phil Galfond, Poker Hall of Fame member Mori Eskandani, and the WPT's Vince Van Patten.Kara has been playing poker since the mid-2000s, finishing runner-up for $413,612 in the 2009 Irish Poker Open, and 104th out of a field of 6,844 players in the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Kara moved to the UK from her native Canada in 1999. There, she hosted the first live internet poker show, 'Poker Night Live'. To satisfy her appetite for poker, she regularly wrote columns for trade magazines while honing her skills. Her name became synonymous with the poker scene in 2010 when she co-produced the "High Stakes Poker" series on GSN. Following this work, she joined the ESPN team to cover the 2011 WSOP Main Event. Her face has been seen around the world and Kara is now one of the most recognisable personalities in the poker world.In March 2016, Kara joined our team of ambassadors.
